Mary Schmidt-Krebs, President of MESA Integrated Marketing, Inc., Awarded 2010 Deborah Baker Public Relations Professional of the Year at the Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards Ceremony

(CARLSBAD, CA) (October 11, 2010) – MESA Integrated Marketing, Inc., an award-winning public relations consulting firm, today announced that its president, Mary Schmidt-Krebs, was honored as the 2010 Deborah Baker Public Relations Professional of the Year at the Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence awards. The award was presented by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter, at its annual awards banquet on October 5, 2010.

Schmidt-Krebs received the award for her work as chair of the chapter’s recent 50th anniversary celebration held in 2009 and her two decades of volunteer work for PRSA. She was president of the chapter in 1996 and 1997 and is currently serving her third year on the local board as an assembly delegate representing the chapter at the national level. Schmidt-Krebs also sits on the PRSA Western District Board that oversees 10 western state PRSA chapters.

“I am honored to be recognized by my peers at PRSA with this prestigious award,” said Schmidt-Krebs. “My work with the chapter has been very rewarding both professionally and personally and I want to thank the members for their help and support over the years.”

Schmidt-Krebs has more than 20 years experience working in the public relations profession and received accreditation by the Public Relations Society of America (APR) in 1999.

Approximately 200 PR professionals from around San Diego and Imperial counties attended the Bernays banquet, titled "Live From the Hard Rock." Kelli Gillespie, San Diego 6 News entertainment reporter and segment producer, served as the event MC.
